DAY OF SURGERY
It is important to prepare yourself as thoroughly as possible for the day of the surgery.
Your doctor or his/her secretary will advise you of the fasting requirements for the anesthesia ahead of your surgery. These will most likely include not eating or drinking prior to the procedure. It is important to strictly follow these instructions otherwise it can lead to a delay or cancellation of your surgery.
On the day of admission you will need to report to the reception desk at Omuramba Day Theatre at the time recommended by your doctor or administration department of Omuramba Day Theatre. Our reception staff will help you to complete the admission documents.
Once you have been admitted, you will be taken to the ward where our nursing staff will meet and prepare you for the procedure. Your medical history and consent for the procedure will be recorded on the nursing records.
It is important for you to confirm with your treating doctor whether you should take or stop any routine medication on the day of your surgery or beforehand.
You are strongly recommended not to drive a motor vehicle for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Please arrange with a friend or family member to collect you after surgery.
