Why Choose Day Surgery

The advantages of modern day surgery

At Omuramba Day Theatre, we believe that high-quality surgical care should be as convenient as possible. Our day surgery model offers distinct advantages over traditional inpatient settings, for you and your family.

Same-Day Discharge

Most patients are admitted in the morning and return home by mid-afternoon. You recover in the comfort of your own home, surrounded by familiar faces, reducing stress and aiding healing.

Cost Effective

Avoiding an overnight stay reduces costs significantly. Day surgery facilities also tend to have lower overheads than major hospitals, which translates directly into more affordable care for patients.

Reduced Infection Risk

Shorter stays mean significantly less exposure to hospital-acquired infections. Our facility is dedicated exclusively to planned procedures, which maintains higher hygiene standards than a general ward.

General Anaesthesia

General anaesthesia uses medicines to create a state of controlled unconsciousness, so you are unaware of your procedure and feel nothing while it takes place. Your specialist anaesthetist assesses you beforehand, stays with you throughout and oversees your recovery.

  • Consultation and assessment with your specialist anaesthetist
  • Continuous monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen
  • Close nursing observation in our recovery ward
  • Clear written aftercare advice before you go home
